Goma-sio is the Japanese name for a condiment, goma (sesame) and shio (salt) that is sprinkled on foods.
Sesame seeds and salt are lightly toasted by woodfire and then crushed by millstone.
Each particle of salt is then coated with the oil from the sesame seeds.
The coating neither masks the flavor nor the nutritional quality of sesame, but allows for better absorption of the salt.
Directions : Sprinkled on cereals or salads, one tablespoon per meal ; goma-sio will give a nutty flavor to your food and enhance the flavor of any dish.
